Jim is one of the two owners here at Van's, the
other one is his brother Paul. Jim is the main
link behind the sales staff and their connection with the
customers. He is responsible for bringing the PACE and PHD programs to Van's. He makes sure were running
on the technology of today, whether it be training for
the staff or time for a whole new approach. Don't think
that Jim just picks up on the passing fads. Van's would
not be in business for 50 years if Jim didn't understand
the saying "Here Today - Gone Tomorrow".
In addition to keeping everyone up-to-date he also heads
our Promotions Department, and this is no small task. He
takes charge of all of the newspaper/magazine ads, direct
mailings, fashion shows, fund raisers, HOG events, and
this web page. Our fund raiser that we hold for Muscular
Dystrophy Association (MDA) every year has been the
largest single day fund raiser in NYS for 15 consecutive
years. Check out our page of up-coming events and you'll see what I mean. He also keeps pace
with the pulse of the aftermarket products that are
available to the full line of HD motorcycles. He just got
back from the Custom Chrome Trade Show out in
California, stop in and see what they had to offer.
Whether you want to create a customized Fat Boy ® or the
fastest Sportster ®, Jim would be the one you
would want to talk to.
And as they say,
"Behind every successful man there is a successful
woman.", Jim's wife Barbara has been working in the
accounting department for the past several years.
Jim's newest
"Custom Creation", is a '01 XR1200. Jim's got it maxed
out with the Stortz® Flat Track aluminum gas tank and rear
fender that's sporting
the orange and black of Harley Davidson. Wide flat track bars and
the classic flat tracker 2-in-to-2 Supertrap stainless steel
exhaust. He also dropped in the latest 42mm Mukini, and
Scream'n Eagle air cleaner, to make that engine do what is is suppose to
do - Breathe Heavy! Of course, this bike has been
finely tuned on our state-of-the-art DynoJet
facility.
If you want to see what
I'm talking about stop in during our . We will have on display several
of Van's "Custom Creations" that Jim and Howard have put together. Maybe someday you're bike
will be on display as one or our special "Custom
Creations".
